Our Story
This story begins over a decade ago in the hallowed streets of Soho, with a bag full of USB leads and a dream: to work in VFX.
And that’s exactly what we did.
After untold hours of rotoscoping, little shots became big shots, screen replacements became the conjuring of whole worlds, and we found ourselves with a pool of knowledge and experience deep enough to swim in.
At this point, we thought it was time to break out of the facility houses and go it alone… We bought a one-way ticket to Edinburgh, and Hanunoo was born.
We've never looked back. Being based in one of the world's great creative cities keeps us on our toes. And as a talent and experience-led VFX house, we always push ourselves to keep creativity at the forefront of everything we do, simply because we can’t help it
Now, about you
So what do we offer? The quality and experience of a Soho facility, without the London overheads. That's probably the most honest way to put it.
When you bring us in, you get compositors and supervisors who've worked at pace on high-end drama and commercial work. People who've seen most shot types, solved most problems, and don't need hand-holding to integrate with your project.
We're small by design. That means you get the actual senior talent on your project, not a junior team working under a name. And because we're Edinburgh-based, we're a cost-effective option for productions that want quality without the London price tag attached.
We work across VFX compositing, editorial, and production-side supervision. Whatever stage you're at, whatever your challenge, we're set up to slot in cleanly and get on with it.

Our Flame artists have tackled a wide range of shot types, challenges and technical demands, delivering high-quality work at speed and with maximum flexibility.

We bridge the gap between production, VFX vendors and finishing house through meticulous pipeline coordination, shot management, and creative review sessions. We utilise Autodesk Flame, alongside Avid, to generate brilliant temps, highly detailed countsheets and fast turnovers.
VFX EDITORIAL

We provide highly experienced VFX Producers and VFX Supervisors for film and television productions, delivering expert leadership across every stage of the visual effects pipeline. From pre-production planning and on-set supervision through to post-production delivery, our team integrates seamlessly with productions to manage creative vision, technical execution, budgets, schedules, and vendor coordination.
